Day 22 - Reflections

For todays word, I wanted to try to take some more self portraits, and shoot through a mirror outside. I set my camera on a timer and placed it so that it sat on top of the leaves; I didn't set it up on a tripod because I wanted to capture the greenery that surrounded the mirror. I focused my camera on the mirror, so that it slightly blurred out the leaves and flowers. I think that this was affective as it created a depth of field. I took pictures at different angles to see what worked best; I think that the images taken from below worked really well. I really like the way the sunlight is hitting my face in some of the images, as the trees have created an interesting shadow that the viewer would like. In editing, I experimented with the highlights and contrast, and also turned up the saturation. I think that this shoot worked better than my first self portrait shoot on Day 1 of this project, and I really like the idea of taking a mirror outside so that in the reflection you are able to see the nature and the blue skies in the images. For this shoot, I was inspired by images online.
