Todays word was 'Colour', and I wanted to incorporate food into my shoot. I chose to use different types of fruit, as they have different colours and textures that are interesting to look at when photos are taken of them close up. For the different coloured backgrounds, I painted them with acrylic. I chose to use two pastel colours and two bold, primary colours. I arranged the fruit in different ways; I stacked them up, made the composition symmetrical, etc. Then, I used different angles to photograph the fruit; close up, birds eye view, etc. I wanted my images to have the shadow of the fruit in the photos, therefore I did this shoot entirely outside, so the sun would shine down on my setup and make the images more vibrant and overall interesting. In editing, I increased the brightness and saturation to emphasise the colours. I was inspired by two artists today; Juri Pozzi and Marianne Taylor. Both of these photographers like to use vibrant colours and specialise in still life photography. If I were to do anything different if I did this shoot again, I might experiment using a wider range of fruit, and mixing the colours more, however I think that my shoot today was successful and I'm happy with the outcome of my images.
