Day 12 - Shape

For todays word, I wanted to try doing something different. Instead of taking photos of my interpretations of the word shape, I decided to use the editing process to create different shapes. Firstly, I took photos of blossom trees, and then in photoshop I cut, cropped, changed the colour of and played around with shapes to create my outcomes. I experimented in many ways with the same couple of images. The photographer that inspired me for this shoot was Marilyn Henrion, who likes to work with mixed media and textiles, and she also draws inspiration from music, poetry and the natural world. I think that the contrast between the natural shapes of the flowers and the sharp edged, edited shapes work really well together. I am really happy with the outcome of this shoot, as I think that the images are really interesting, the shapes that I have created are unique, and the colours in these edits are captivating. I also think that the viewer would like that I have tried something new.
