Day 10 - Through

For todays word 'through', I decided to shoot through glass. I stood on one side of the window and my sister, the model, stood on the other side of it. It did not rain today, but I wanted to make the images more interesting, therefore I sprayed the window with water, so that the photos looked like it was a gloomy day. I put darker filters on my images, increased the contrast and shadows on photoshop, and made a couple of the images black and white to imply a sense of dullness. The models facial expressions are juxtaposed with the sensation of the images, as she is smiling and laughing. Overall, I think that these images were very successful.


Todays shoot was inspired by Nick Fancher, a photographer who specialises in editorial and commercial photography. He took a series of photos where he uses honey and water on a piece of glass and shoots portraits through it. Here are some examples of his work and the ones that inspired me most:
