Day 4 - Objects at Home

For this phrase, I decided to take photos of objects around my room that I think symbolises me and my interests. I laid down a pink blanket and some of my favourite things, such as makeup, books, my computer and objects to symbolise my interests such as travel and the outdoors. I worked with different angles to get the best outcomes; I really like that some of these images are taken from afar, and some were taken zoomed in, which created a depth of field. I think that the outcome of these images were successful because it allowed me to play around with the layout and composition to explore what I thought looked the best. I really like commercial photography, and this word was a great way for me to experiment with it. In editing, I wanted to leave the images quite plain as I think that in this case, simple is more effective. However, I did slightly turn up the contrast and cropped some of the photos so that the viewer could establish a clear focal point.

For todays shoot, I did not have a photographer that I took inspiration from, however my reference for today was the photography on Charlotte Tilbury website. Charlotte Tilbury is a high end makeup and skincare brand, and what always draws me into her website is the commercial photography that they display on their front page.
